At MWE we want to deliver what’s most important to our clients.
That’s why we give you three promises….
Understanding the client
Because we want the best our clients it is important for us to understand not just how our clients move but also how they think. Your self-values, self-motivation and self-awareness will contribute greatly to the ultimate outcome of your intervention.
For example, we may have correctly diagnosed your injury, given you the correct exercises and asked you to do these exercises three times a day. Yet as we all know, the outcome will not be achieved if you do not assign the time needed to achieve the outcome.
It is our job as clinicians to point this out so that the client is more self-aware so that he/she can take better control over organisation of the day to day activities in order to get the desired outcome. Ignoring this process can become frustrating for both therapist and client, resulting in wasted resources for both.
After all, what’s a good clinician got to offer if he/she does not inspire the client to make the changes to get better? Our therapists strive to give you the best treatment options whilst at the same time reiterating the value of good health.
Understanding our role as therapists…
We are expert therapists who inspire others to value their health and wellbeing BUT we also have a network of people around us to whom we refer. It is important to realise as a clinician that as you begin to understand the integration of the many parts of the body and value a more holistic approach, you simultaneously respect the volume of knowledge that is impossible for any one person to contain.
With this understanding of the holistic approach comes the submission to limitations of your own ability and the then need for a strong network of therapists around you and a basic understanding of their knowledge, skills and applications. To offer great care, we as therapists must have a good knowledge of what the other health professionals do! That way we can keep the client’s best interests in mind as we either provide care or refer on.
