Tendontrak is a service unique to MWE which combines various techniques for tendon repair and regeneration to give faster tendon injury recovery times.
You will receive expert guidance for tendon injury rehabilitation and the application of “tendon specific” applications all done via a team of clinicians coordinating the service.
Graded assessment
Your therapist will grade your tendon damage and advise you on the recovery process.
Ultrasound imaging
Sometimes it’s best to have your injured area scanned to get a proper image of the tissue with visual, measurable damage.
Braces/tapes/supports
In order to allow the fastest recovery, the tendon must be put into the “right environment”. This means unloading it from stress and inflammation. we have everything you need to ensure the tendon is given the best chance to repair.
Shockwave therapy
Radial shockwaves are used to break down calcium and re-initiate the healing process in areas that have become stagnant after 6 months or more. Particularly effective for tendon to bone interfaces at the heel, elbow, knee and shoulder. (read more about Shockwave therapy)
PRP injections
Platelet Rich Plasma regenerative injections are highly sort after by clients wanting a better chance at fixing tendinous and other connective tissue complaints. PRP can be used for cartilage, ligaments and tendon repair. The PRP is a natural process involving the client’s own blood, which is then modified to enable enhanced healing properties before being reinjected into the injured area. Steroid injections are also available.
Hands on physiotherapy
Your therapist will perform hands on therapy to assist with blood supply, joint re-alignment, muscle flexibility and de-sensitization around the area.
Resistance training
The gradual loading of the tendon is vital for ensuring a strong repair. MWE offers commercial grade gym equipment to progress tendon loading from simple resistance exercises to more complex functional activities.
