Physiotherapy treatment for lower limb
foot ankle knee hip
The lower limb accepts the majority of the body’s weight under gravity, and in doing so, is subject to load bearing degeneration of joints. The flexible foot joint distributes weight to the hinge joint of the knee, which then transfers load to the hip joint. Slight disruptions in the alignment of the foot or the muscle balance of the pelvis and knee can result in problems that impair the gait or walking pattern. An accurate diagnosis for the lower limb may not be as straight forward as looking at the painful part. Thorough assessment of the entire limb is necessary to get to the bottom of the cause.
