Whiplash can upset your nervous system
Unfortunately, this ‘all too often’ injury is mistreated and labelled simply as an injury to the neck. Yet often we see a whiplash injury causing month upon month of distress for the victim with complaints ranging including
- Neck, back and shoulder pain,
- tingling and numbness,
- blurry vision,
- headaches,
- fatigue,
- depression,
- nausea and
- anxiety
Although the presenting complaint with whiplash is predominantly neck pain, treatment for this injury must take into account the trauma that the nervous system absorbs along with the subsequent protective reaction with which the body responds.
To effectively treat whiplash our clinicians will recruit and multi-factorial approach to your treatment which encompasses the
- subconscious “protective” response,
- physical injury
- neurological fatigue
- eye and inner ear (vestibular) dysfunction
- weakness and immobility
